Description

"The Sephardic Flavors and Aromas" exhibition organized by the Spanish Embassy, Istanbul Cervantes Institute, Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews and Red de Juderias de Espana will take place between 16 April and 14 May at the Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews.

“EL KE ALARGA LA MEZA, ALARGA LA VIDA”

The Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews, Red de Juderías de España, Spanish Embassy and Istanbul Cervantes Institute are coming together as part of the “Sephardic Tastes and Aromas” exhibition. Red de Juderías de España put forward this exhibition dedicated to Sephardic cuisine and history, as part of its efforts to research, preserve, disseminate and promote Sephardic culture.

Based on the book Sabores de Sephardi written for Red de Juderías by author, cook and food photographer Javier Zafra, the exhibition features 27 works by the artist. Participants will go deep into this heritage, accompanied by historical notes, gastronomic discoveries and inspiring images; they will take them on a time travel where the palate as well as the heart will guide them. Just as Istanbul is a city that embraces Sephardic flavors, the Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews next to the Galata Tower is the ideal place to host such an exhibition. During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which will be held in Istanbul on April 16 after Kraków and Miami, the refreshing kosher caf of Covides Winery in Villafranca del Penedés will also be presented.
